TIMONE THE CAT STORY :

Our journey has left us dry in many areas of our lives, but not so much as when both Asher and I lost our cats to death . Maxie just a year ago now. We have had cats in our lives for quite a few years and when they left our lives our very essence went with them.
BUT GOD IS FAITHFUL !
My life journey is a story of Gods goodness in it, and this is no different, it is a part of my story. We have been offered many a times an opportunity to get another cat. I was offered two young kittens, the owners did not want them separated. I was so struggling with the Arthirtis thing, I knew I just did not have the energy for two young ones. Not only that, the expense times two. With Maxie, she was so set in her ways. The money we spent on her was an exact. She had all of shots etc. She did not play anymore like a kitten, and no longer disrupted our sleep. She had us so programmed to her schedule it was not funny. So to think of two kittens, climbing, playing , jumping , knocking things over like a bull in a China shop, I just had to turn them down, but with an ache in my heart still residing there.
There were a few more offers, and there was even one for a small dog, of which I was tempted, but I am not really a dog person. And besides, they have a whole different kind of care than a cat.
And my heart continued to ache!
Praying that GOD would end this dry season in our lives and bring back life was a daily consuming prayer of my heart. Joy and laughter had all but gone. Hope, like the kitten hanging on by one of his nails on a tree limb, we kept on praying. We did not see the way to bring in another cat of any kind, financially it would be a strain to meet its needs.
BUT THEN !
About the beginning of August a co-worker sent out an email, free to good home, a cat. Well, I did some inquiry of this cat, and discussed it with Asher. Finding out it had not had its shots updated, I could not take this on. We would want to do the right think in taking care of him, and it would not be right to take him then have to bring him down to the humane society because we could not meet his care needs. So I said no.
And my heart ached again !
The reason my co-worker needed a home for him was because her fiancé was allergic to him. She really wanted to find her cat a home, but if she could not, she would be left with taking him to the shelter. All I could do was pray that God would find this cat a home .
Then, this past Monday, August 27th, she came to me again, gave me a big hug, said good morning, and brought her cat up to me again.
And here I thought this door was closed.
She said she called her vet, inquired as to what shots he needed then called Angles of Assai and found out the charge for them there. Her offer to me was, that if she paid for the cats shots would I be able to give him a home? He is an older cat of about 4 years . His name is Timone, and she said he was an orange striped cat with orange eyes. She said he was a love of a cat. She said he likes to stand on his hind legs like Timone in the Lion King movie. A MERE CAT< but not just a mere cat< lol. She said that he was declawed. She said he spends a lot of time alone and that he needed company. And of course he is fixed.
She asked me to consult with my son to see what he thought and get back to her.
GOD WORKS IN THE UNSEEN, HE WORKS so BEHIND THE SCENES !
I have had an orange tabby before, I found a home for her when I had my own rescue mission oh so many years ago now. I said then, I would never own anther orange tabby. God so has a sense of humor, because his offer to me for Timone was an orange tabby cat. You see I have found that the orange tabbies are quite spunky and very persnickety, thus they would not be my choice. Even when my cat Maxie died, the day we had to take her to the emergency vet, , there in the office was this kitten just running around. It was an orange tabby, and he was climbing up Ashers pant leg. The vet said then, he was a handful, and I said again then, that is why I would not have an orange tabby for that reason…

Im sure GOD was on the floor laughing that day, although it was a sad day for Asher and I ( and He shared in our sorrow) when Maxie passed,
God was saying, just you wait !
LOOK WHAT THE LORD HAS DONE !
( is the song that is playing on the radio as I write this)
THE LORDS CHOICE FOR MY LIFE IS BETTER THAN MY CHOOSING !
Just because you have said no to something, does not necessarily mean a no. I have proof, in this house, that when it was offered to me, I said no to begin with.
BUT GOD SAID YES !
This house was HIS choice for us and he showed me so.
AND SO IT WAS WITH TIMONE !

It is a proven fact that our expectations are not GOD’s ! We can so blow things way out of proportion. We can so complain when things don’t go the way we think they should or in the time frame with think they should, Please GOD forgive my stubbornness ! The Lord knows how I am, he knows why I think and act the way I do, and I am so thankful HE still loves me and forgives me.
What do you think it means when you pray empty me of me and fill me with you oh Lord? What do you think it means when you sing the song I surrender all to you oh Lord? I surrender all my hopes, my dreams, all my plans to you oh Lord and lay my expectations at your feet. What does that really mean ? How do you feel about GOD making the choices in life for you ?
Well that is exactly what he did with this house, and with Timone.
When I said no, HE said “YES”.

God knows my heart, He knows I want to follow HIM !
Timone is now in our care. He spent the night from my bed to Ashers bed. He let each of us pet him, and he rubbed his scent all over us. He nuzzled with Asher in his room. He is still adjusting, but he knows where the potty box is, and he knows were his food and water bowl is. He did have his shots, and has been stressed out so we are taking the time to cuddle and pet him as he lets us. He has spent several hours under my bed, and has found in my room a side table that has two draws in it, but has an open bottom nook that he has found to be a safe place. So for the time being he is nuzzled there. We got him some cat nip and sprinkled it on a small cat toy which sent him into kitty heaven.. We gave him two toilet paper rolls of which he tossed in the air a few times. He played with a cord for a while. He let Asher brush him. Asher sat on one side of the sofa and I on the other and Timone went back and forth between us. He calls out with a deep meow when he wants your attention. We are all adjusting on this Labor Day weekend. Funny, I went to see a neighbor for one and a half hours, and Timone was looking for me while I was gone Asher said. This morning, when Asher closed his door for a nap, and I was in the shower with the door closed, Timone was outside the bathroom door meowing…
We made him a place to look out the front window where he can view birds , other cats that live next door, and ground hogs that like to eat the clover in the neighbors yard.
His life with us will be well spent. He will be spoiled by us, and he in turn we will be spoiled by his affection toward us. Now for you cat lovers, some of you may know that cats usually pick a person to be there own. As of right now it looks like Timone has picked each of us and that is very cool indeed.
