A KISS ON THE WIND

By God & Leslie

September 22, 2012

2 Corinthians 13:12
Greet one another with an holy kiss.

To define kiss means to press or touch with the lips as an expression of passion, affection or respect.

Every one has been kissed at some point in there life. When you were born, your mother would be the first to kiss you, then your dad, then your grandparents, then , your brothers and sisters if you have them, then, Aunts and uncles. You would have been kissed a lot as a baby. I just love little piggy’s . They are so precious, they just scream out to be kissed. Those little feet will see a lot of action in the days ahead but for now, those little tiny wrinkly feet need to be kissed.

As you grow you encounter other avenues to be kissed. Like when you go see your relatives for a visit. I remember visiting my favorite grandmother. I would kiss her on the cheek and give her a hug. A dad would probably kiss there child on the forehead or on the cheek , where as mom would give kisses all over , like on the belly or on the neck if they were playing with them. If your child has fallen down and hurt themselves, one would take care of the boo boo and give a kiss which would make things all better. If a child is crying, one would kiss the tears away. As you become an adult, a kiss on the mouth would be something a little more intimate.

Of course there are those kisses we give to our pets too. The little kitten who nuzzles up close to you giving you her kitty kisses, makes you want to give kisses back. And for you puppy lovers, there is nothing like getting a big lick in the face.

None the less a kiss is a sign of love and affection.

There are also what is called, Butterfly kisses where you take your eyelashes and rest them on the cheek of your intended and blink your eye, leaving them a little tickle kiss.

During my lunch trip down Thirlane road, and onto Peters Creek to my Chiropractor across from Bo jangles I kept seeing butterflies, one then two then three, so I began to count them. They were very clearly the Monarch Butterfly; I had counted 11 that danced before me before I got to my destination. On the way back they were dancing once again in front of me. By the time I got back to the office I had a total of 26 that I had counted for the short trip down the street. These were all the same color bright orange and black.

God was being very playful today and I believe HE was sending me butterfly kisses from above.

You know you can see the wind only as it rustles the leaves on the trees, and you can feel the wind when you are outside. Some times it is light; sometimes it can knock you over. The wind can pull up trees from there roots, and it can down power lines for days. It can make the waves roll higher, and it can take a car right off the road. It can be so gentle on a hot summer day that it brings with it a fresh breath of air to those outside under a shady tree. The wind, controlled by God, His breath, breathing down from Heaven. He so does this after a storm. Have you ever noticed after a rain storm; the winds come right behind it? God’s breath, drying up the rain so you can enjoy a beautiful sunny day.

The other day, you know it was one of those days, we have all had them. It was a day that I so desperately needed to hear from God. Something! Anything! God please! I had stepped out onto our front step at work trying to drink in the quietness of the moment, my heart reaching up to the heavens. Holding tears back in the stillness there of. Nothing was moving. Then while I had my eyes closed, the wind ever so gently caressed my left cheek. It was ever so gentle as if I just had been given a kiss. It was then, that I realized God had kissed me with His breath. He had heard the cries of my heart and seen the tears in my eyes and he was touched by them. The wind was not blowing before this time, and the wind was not blowing after this moment. God had sent His kiss for me and me alone in that moment in time. Oh how blessed I felt in that I realized God had indeed heard the silent prayers of my heart.

I think we get so caught up in the everyday things of life that we forget to see those things that God breathed life into. God is the butterfly! God is the wind! We do not see those white puffy clouds that float so effortlessly by us on the way to where we are going. We do not see the bluest of blue sky or the rainbow for that fact. We are so caught up with our texing while we are driving, or racing to the mall after work hours. We get caught up in traffic and read those bumper stickers we have no business reading, when you could have seen the birds on the wires or the homes lined with brightly colored flowers. Or the tire swing that has children swinging back and forth. We do not see the ducks in the pond or the turtle crossing the road. How about the sunrays that peer out from behind a gray cloud? Its brilliance can hardly be missed, yet it is missed. I can not see a sun ray with out thinking about the Lord.

HIS GLORY SHINING DOWN ON EARTH!

BUT DID YOU SEE HIM?

Genesis 2:7
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul

I read in a devotional one morning that God will give you a song if you will ask Him. I had to ponder that for a moment, wondered and then came to the point Why Not Ask and see what He has to say to me.

This is what I heard:

Rest in me, Rest In me

And as I heard the tune, I became aware of the song. I had heard the song before, I knew I had that on CD somewhere and I was on a mission to find it. The CD was at my desk at work; I could not wait to read the words to the song, and then play the song so I could fully hear what GOD was singing to me:

The song: by CeCe Winans / it was on a CD titled Coram Deo II People of Praise. I have had this CD many years and have listened to it on and off. But now it had special meaning: Here are the words.

REST IN ME

Don’t you worry, don’t you cry (I’m here).

Every Need I’ll supply (Don’t fear)

Trust in me with all thine heart (I love you)

I’m your refuge and your God

Rest in me, Rest in me,

I’m the rock of your salvation can’t you see

Rest in Me, Rest in me,

Perfect peace belongs to you if you believe,

Peace belongs to you if you believe

Great and Holy is my name (Jesus)

and righteousness I proclaim ( Holy)

Cast your burdens and be free (forever)

You’ll find safety in my wings

Rest In Me, Rest In Me

(Do you need a tissue?)

The scripture He would give to me to call my very own was

Psalm 46:10a

Be still, and know that I am God:

It has been said in many a books, many a devotionals, and through many sermons that God speaks to us all the time. I have thought many a time, how can this be, until I really began to look for HIM. Before opening HIS WORD, I would ask that HE SHOW HIMSELF in the passages. I would ask HIM to show me what he needs for me to know in the devotionals that I read. I would ask HIM to speak to me in my dreams so that I may have some personal time with Him. I would ask that he let me hear His heart in a song or in a thought.

Matthew 7:8
For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

He is behind the sheer curtain of your minds eye, you must look for Him in order to see Him. He is not human that you see him like you see your neighbor, but in spirit, so you must look for Him in Spirit. A whisper on the wind. A bird in flight, a butterfly or hummingbird. He could be found in a picked flower, in the sweet fragrance of the Rose. He can be found in the kindness of others. He is there and He is waiting for you to hear Him, waiting for you to see Him, waiting for you to call on him. You will never have a relationship with HIM until you put HIM first in your lives. You will never see HIM until you begin to look for HIM, not in the mighty things, but in the softness of a summer day. The sound of the cricket, even the meow of a cat could bring you just a little closer to HIM.

Hebrews 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him

Always my Love for You, Leslie
