I"m a midwest transplant living in the southeast. The only outdoor adventures my wife and I have pulled off since the kids were born are the day trips to the beach or mountains. We both are looking forward to when their older(now 4,2,1) so we can take them camping. But no complaints here, giving up one joy for another has been the greatest adventure yet. I lived the first 35 years of my life as a "christian" and only recently has my heart come alive. I've thrown away the lies and embraced the truth in who I really am. I now have strength that has eluded me my whole life. Of course I'm constantly tested, but now I'm aware of this instead of believing the lies. I feel as though I'm at the beginning of a great adventure and I'm so excited to see how it unfolds.

Just a couple of things I was looking at today.

1If I speak in the tongues[a] of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames,[b] but have not love, I gain nothing.
4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. 11When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 12Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
1Corinthians13

11Finally, brothers, good-by. Aim for perfection, listen to my appeal, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.
12Greet one another with a holy kiss. 13All the saints send their greetings.
14May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
2Corinthians13:11-14

Jason, boot camp is awesome! I went in Nov and am returning in March. Make sure you are praying the daily prayer found on the event page. It will help you stay aware of the warfare. I wish I could say that the time before the boot camp flies by, but it doesn't satan is going to throw everything, including the kitchen sink at you. but know you have brothers to turn to that will shield you in prayer! Looking forward to time on the mountain with you my new friend and brother!
