REPOSTING this, bro, because I just re-read it and it seemed veyr appropriate. I know you won't let your guard down, I just don't want you to hold out your shield in the wrong direction. Prayers continue: Oh, yeah, you're a target all right. Forget…

Thank you guys for the encouragement. To the shock of all of the "Political Insiders" I have made it to a runoff. I was victorious over one of my opponents that had never been defeated and spent over 40K on his campaign. I asked for no donations and…

Todd - Thanks. I love the idea and the spirit of what you are trying to do with this group. Your home page statement is strong and meaningful. Didn't have to think too hard about adding this group. After all, for any Dad that believes in what JE is teaching, this mission flows naturally from that teaching - really a central part of it. I commend you for starting this group and I look forward to sharing with other Dads. By the way, love the pictures - looks like you have a great family.

Hi Todd. Sorry it took me so long getting back to you but we have been swamped at work.
A little history on my boys and the adventures. I have three boys, 30, 29, and 23. I have six grandkids from six yrs of age to 7 months. As young boys we hunted and fished and spent a lot of time in the water. Sking, knee boarding, and the works. When the oldest turned six the sports began. From baseball, basketball, football, and karate. We were busy but we had a lot of fun. We were involved in praise and worship @ church. I play guitar and two of my boys play. I can see the impact a father has on his own kids, both good and bad, in so many ways. What your children are around all through their lives, they will become. That is why it is so important the things we do and say, how we treat others, how we conduct business, because our kids are watching us closely. I see things I am so proud of and thankful that Gods mercy and grace were upon me, and then I see things that I am not proud of.They are like sponges just soaking everything up. I can see the leadership skills, fathering skills, and teamwork abilities in their everyday walk. God has his hand on them and I am blessed. That has always been my prayer Todd, for them to be the husband, father, priest, and son that God has called them to be. They have blessed me with six wonderful grandkids and I am a proud grandpa. The greatest investment anyone can give their children is their time. Invest yourself into your children. Give yourself to them and let them see the Christ that lives in us.

God Bless
Alton

Todd, Thanks for the welcome and the compliment on the family. I've read some of John's books and really connected with them. It's been a year or better since I've read any of his books but after discovering Rasomedheart.net I've been feeling the urge to get back into his writings and this time work through the workbooks with a group of friends.

Wow - a lot can happen when we don't keep in touch. Way to go with all the facets of your life, carreer and ministry. By the way, Debbie went to Florida Southern College with Dana and then all three of us were at Candler together. We've stayed in touch on and off over the years, but was surprised to see him pop up on your site - now I know why. He must have been your youth director while he was in seminary. Small world.

I'm sorry Nicholas - I got in a hurry and used the wrong name....I apologize. I'm convinced that we all need good mentors....in life...and to help us decipher our callings. How is the men's breakfast going? Any opportunity for a sage/mentor there?…
