Susan, I'm sorry I'm just responding to your post. We've been out of town. From reading the thread, it appears that you've worked out your carpooling for the retreat - yeah! I did want to answer your one question about the shuttle, just in case it w…
So glad you will be attending the retreat this fall! I am from Knoxville and will be there on the work crew. I read your potential travel times, and I wanted to encourage you to book as late a flight as possible on Sunday. The final session lasts un…
This is the place for those who will be attending the September 2010 Captivating retreat at Frontier Ranch, CO to connect before the event. This group will become the Alumni Group after the event.
Hey susan! Its awesome to know that you guys actually got to see the note! Sorry its taken me forever to wb...I actually just saw your post very recently. I haven't been on the site since the retreat...school!!
Anyway, I was wondering if you could tell me how to apply for work crew? I'm interested in tagging along and serving for the retreat in August. :)
Hey Susan! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video. It's one of my all time favorite movies! I am really looking forward to seeing you at Captivating...Just one more week!
Well, like you said, I just need to concentrate on taking care of myself in general before leaving. I also need to begin the process of helping my 5 year old understand mommy will be away for 4 days and what that means. Prepping is the most important part for my little one, if I tell her far enough in advance, she is WAY MORE understanding of change.
Thank you for your encouragement. It's been kind of strange going through the book. It was as if the first 6 chapters were flying . . . as far as reading, then it's as if a switch flipped off in chapter 7. I think you are correct though, considering the next couple of days, I will not be picking up the book any time soon.
You know, I've never had altitude sickness that I'm aware of. Do you know what altitude the ranch is at?
Susan,
How's your church set up for outreach? Do a good job? My family needs some help. My uncle is in the hospital. Been there since August. He contracted Guillean Barre' Syndrome - sudden onset paralysis. He has what the dr's are saying is the worst case of it they have ever seen. He is recovering, but very slowly. They are not believers and have no family and few friends in the area. My aunt is about to be sick herself from caring for him. And the hospital they have moved him to is almost an hour from her home, so the driving is adding to her burden. A very lonely woman who has been through a lot in the past months. My parents are going over as much as they can. I've been once, but with 6 kids, it's hard to get over there. Long and short of it is that I'd love to give their names to a good church to start building a relationship with them, but have been nervous to do so, lest I hand them over to a "religious" church, or one that won't follow through. Know of anyone that might would be interested in helping? Thanks
what do you mean..."now we're friends". I thought we went back long before this...lol
How are you girlfriend? sure do miss you & wish I was going to see you this Feb. at Captivating. Oh well... Se LA Vie.
Life is full, and this last year has honestly been horrible. If I wasn't sleeping from exhaustion, I surely would have celebrated starting a whole new year. Hope you have a good one. Love you
I'm sorry Nicholas - I got in a hurry and used the wrong name....I apologize.
I'm convinced that we all need good mentors....in life...and to help us decipher our callings.
How is the men's breakfast going? Any opportunity for a sage/mentor there?…

Jonathan, I remember years ago God healed me physically of a bad back. My friend prayed for me, was not touching me herself, and I felt this warmth on my back and then presuure, more pressure, till eventually the bone that was out of place God put b…
Eve, I am a very "self protective" person, however, when God asks me to go to church or mix with christians that puts me in my "uncomftable zone" I will do it because I love His body. So I do think it is possible to be both self protective but not w…
Thanks for your comment Isha.
Gary, your example also reminds me of how Jeus walked in perfect peace....no fear...yeah! I wana know Him more too! I want that peace that flows like a river and never ends! There is SO much more in Him!

Was praying for you Deborah - that He would shine His light so you will be able to see the truth from the lies, renounce "agreements" you have made, and come into a larger place of freedom . . .
When studying the verse, "Come unto me (Jesus) all ye who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest. Learn of me, for I am meek and gentle of heart," I read one author defining meek as being the opposite of anger - which led me to James whe…
