At the age of 53 they say that I'm the young age of the old and the old age of the young. I've been married to my best friend for 32+ years, raised five children and totally enjoy my new role of "papa" to five lovely grandchildren. Life is good! I've been teaching for over twentyfive years in a local Christian high school. With all its ups and downs I still enjoy getting up in the morning and hanging out with 125 students during the day.

Jon, I posted this on R3 Warriors page and wanted to share it with you also.

WOW, step 4 was flat out hard (it took about 6.5 hrs split between two meetings w/ my sponsor), BUT my Father has proven yet once again how incredibly tender he is with my wounds.

If you’ve read some of my first comments you'll remember that I took a three hour walk with ABBA back in OCT. at boot camp.
Well, at the first meeting w/ my sponsor my Father showed up again in such a way that... well let's just say that he physically crawled into that very dark and painful place with me, met me there and walked me out into his healing, holding and guiding me the entire way.

Men, my God, OUR God is truly TRUST WORTHY !!!!!

Thank you for all your prayers, He really does listen and responds.

Thanks Jon. I appreciate it. My dad is a pastor, and he has a real gift of making the Gospel understandable to everybody...down to earth, : ). I have always prayed that I might inherit that gift. I hope that I have! My husband is going back to school, he wants to be a teacher. He's a lot like you, at least from what I can derive from your profile. He's the best father, husband, an awesome man of God...I hope he can be an awesome teacher. ANy advice for him?

So glad to hear you are home and feeling better. I will continue to pray that you get your strength back and amaze the doctors!!! Enjoyed your pictures. . . but didn't read where you guys were.
Our small Christian school will most likely close this year. It breaks my heart. Do you know of any websites that are available to promote school vouchers? I am so burdened for Christian education.

Jesus please cover Jon in your blood,
Abba please protect Jon and keep him from all harm and evil,
Holy Spirit, I join with Jon in praying that you would fulfill your purpose
in his life.

Jon, concerning "Tender Warriors", nothing is required or expected, but would turely be blessed to have you and your wife's insight and wisdom when the Holy Spirit promps it. It is like any other group, Tony from Montana (co-founder), and I thought it best to require permission to join the group, trying to create a safe & comfortable place to share and discuses issues that concern our daughters.
That way not just anyone can browse through discussions, where issues might be sensitive.
I don't mean to sound or come across paranoid, but the headlines of the past 5-10 yrs bare witness to the fact that we are not to let our guard down.

Hi Jon! You asked if I see glimpses of heaven and indeed I do!
I see it in my daughters eyes; in my son's smile when he makes the shot!; in the sunset over the horizon as I'm driving home from a long day at work; in the flowers that appear in the crack of a sidewalk!--there is such beauty and wonders to be held each day. I ask daily for God to give me eyes to see ALL of his little reminders of His goodness and presence. I don't want to miss a thing! I try to look for praise-stoppers, moments when you just HAVE to stop and give Him praise!
