Profile Information

Tell us about your self (optional)
I was born and raised in Poughkeepsie, New York, just about 80 miles north of the Big Apple. My family and I live in Hyde Park, New York, the former home of Franklin Roosevelt, but I didn't let that stop us from living there. Seriously, it's a real nice town, rich with history. My wife Christine and I have been happily married for 26 years and have seven (yes seven) children, 5 boys and two girls. I am passionate about my relationships, with God and my family, they are the fuel for my creativity and the drive to finish strong.

Yule Love It

Traditions are grand things; they encompass us with a rich blend of history and relationships. However, some can be just downright …well, silly. I did a little research about the Yule Log and found out some interesting facts, which may just surprise you. Before I get into speci… Continue

Gifts in the Snow

“Christmas is most truly Christmas when we celebrate it by giving the light of love to those who need
it most.” Ruth Carter Stapleton

There they were, packages of various sizes wrapped in Christmas paper scattered all along the snow drifts in my front yard. I looked out my window wondering how long they would last in the snow and when my father would let us retrieve them, I was only seven years old. In a fit of rage over something unknown to us, he had tossed them, along with the tree, o… Continue

Prayer to go

What is prayer time to you? Is it a daily duty? A lifeline to get through the day? Is prayer time a weapon? Certainly, it can be all these and more. However, I like my definition, prayer is just plain talking, discussing and sharing my heart with Abba Father. Although my definition works for me, this is a still a major area of wrestling with consistency for me, and I suspect for other men as well. We need to be men of prayer; it is vital to sonship and the rest of the areas of our lives. Prayer… Continue

Are you Game?

Growing up in a rural area in upper NY State, I was exposed to rare culinary…uhm, treats. One of the more common entrées was the fuzzy gray speed bump known as “the squirrel”. My father hunted for them often, which never seemed much of a challenge to me. Our cat seemed to have no problem catching one in our backyard. However, my father would come back from hunting with a few and act like it was from some dangerous safari expedition. Our cat would just drop one at the front door and be done with… Continue

Dream On

God uses dream sequences to impart passion into the timeline our lives. The fulfillment, however desirable by us, is not His priority. What is His motive for dreams? I believe its for our character to be molded by the pursuit of them, and to look more like Christ in the process. Yes, there are purposes to fulfill, missions to complete, jobs to do…yet, it is the fullness of Christ in us that God’s heart is excited about. With Father God it’s about the process, the journey for He is the author and… Continue

My wife and family will be relocating for ~ 2 years to Naples from Seattle. I logged on here hoping to find something of good churches in Italy
Thanks for your time: and if you know of any goings-on in Southern Italy or Europe, please let me know. THANKS!

you guys home school?
What are your religious beliefs, or denomination? Love big families, thought it funny when we took our trip at how many other big families we met. Most of them home schooled.

Pat, Yes, these Agates are milestones. We haven't been camping for years. Some of these stones are from Agate Beach but most of these were found here in the San Francisco area. The Agates at Agate Beach aren't as big but just as pretty.
