I am 38 years old, married since August 2008, and have been a christian for a number of years now...since mid 90s.
I enjoy a great many things...music of all kinds top the list!
So folk festivals, concerts (arenas to coffee shop shows) are always a thing and hopefully always will be.
I have a desire to travel alot.
So far, I've been in South America for a year now...and of course, I want to do more! (Africa and Israel topping the list)
Of course, I love fishing! I have done it from time to time all my life, but I developed a fondness for it here in Peru.
I have quite alot to say I think, but I usually dont feel free to say it.
I am pretty opinionated, but I've always loved the way PM Dawn put it " If I'm right I'm right. But if I'm wrong then show me I'm wrong."
I have a rough background, I have felt deeply angry over the years and have tried to suppress it without any success.
I have a deep desire to walk with the lord. I love to read the Word, and serving in worship capacity has been a blessing...I do love serving with outreaches to the marginalized peoples of our society.
Like many here, I have read a book by John Eldredge, and have felt A deep desire to have fellowship with like-minded people. People who believe the Lord of our universe is wild at heart!
(sorry about the plug...I'm not in advertising!)
I have alot more to say, but I shall save that for the forums and chats.
Anyways....lets go get a coffee.

Wow. Nice story to pass on to your future.
I have been a fan of John Eldredge since Wild at Heart first came out. I was the church librarian then and I felt the Spirit tell me to get his book (as I was perusing for purchases at the local Book store). I opened the book randomly to read and it. It opened to the section where he was taking about the little boy who was being bullied and that the boy should fight back. I remember reading it thinking that the elders at the church would ban the book and send me walking, but I was convicted, bought it and promoted it. About 6 or 7 months later, I promoted the book to a couple and they give John's writing credit for saving their marriage - It was a good thing. What initially drew me to appreciate John's writing was his thinking around the need for men to step up and be men of God and that didn't mean demasculinizing (is that a word?) themselves and yet maintain those qualities that honour women also. Man fully man as God intended.
Anyhow, I had been receiving John's newsletters/readings for a while and I eventually rolled into here. I don't do Facebook. This community felt much safer for me for many reasons.
Hi Eric. Having spent some time in Latin America myself, and a fellow Canuck, I thought I'd say "Hola". I lived in Colombia for 3 years, and also spent a summer in Ecuador. My wife and I are both fluent Spanish speakers, and have quite a few Latino friends in the Toronto area. Are you working there, or just enjoying the coffee?

Hey there! Love the snowboarder pic...you homesick for 'la neige'? :D
How's the weather in Peru, and may I ask what has drawn you to the southern hemisphere?
btw...how's the coffee??

Yes I too and learning the ways of recording. I've cobbled together some cheap home recording gear and software, and it's enough to get the song to "demo" quality. If you go to Applications (it'll be on the left hand side on your page) and check out music, you'll find an application where you can add mp3 files. Look forward to having a listen.
Hi Eric - welcome to the Songwriting group. Feel free to contribute to any of the discussions or start your own. Do you have any of your own music you can post?
