The other day I enjoyed a Montecristo 75th Anniversario- Desde 1935. They aren't making very many of these, but very nice- medium/full body. I often lean toward Rocky Patel products.
BTW Steve, while in Roswell, stop in and see my friends in missio…
Saved
Spinning out of control
Your mighty hands reached down to save me
You picked me up from the dead ashes
and lifted me into the light
Lives fade through the night
but your mercy redeems us all
No promise of tomorrow
but, we are saved from the…
I am 53 and married to the most wonderful K-girl (Karen). We have eight kids between the two of us (grown- college and up). We are part of Christ Anglican Church in Mobile, AL. and are very active in lifegroup, men's ministry, music, etc I am a decorative painter/artisan (I make new things look old) and play guitar. Love the music of Rich Mullins, Pierce Pettis, the late great Larry Norman and many others.
The only WAH event I have attended was an Eldredge conference in Washington, DC several years back, but many of my friends have been to BC.
Phil Keaggy, OMG, I just found Phil Keaggy among my collection. He is one of the best Christian guitarists of all time. If not the best. Just continuing our convo from last night... So nostalgic... 2nd chapter of Acts, Daniel Amos, Steve Taylor. Man so many good ones I had forgotten all about.
Thanks Davo for an awesome time at your house. I cant seem to find Jim on here. You and your wife are a couple of really special people to welcome someone so openly. I look forward to more of the same in the future and perhaps you guys can make it up this way as well.
Yeah, I thought you'd recognize them! I was at Christ Church for "Journey To Wholeness in Christ" last spring. It was very good, I'll have to tell you about it when we meet, that journey continues, and included BC last August.
Thanks for the note.
I just moved up to this area and am just getting planted in a good Church. I am looking forward to sharing my music with the congregation and perhaps joining their Praise Band. We'll see what God has in mind.
God Bless.
Thanks for the welcome Davo. Enjoyed your photos. There's nothing more fullfilling (for me) than picking up my guitar and singing songs of Praise and Worship. Do you still play?
Hi, Davo....
Wow...I took a look at your work. Very impressive.
The ferns was something sort of like I have been considering in my own home. Beautiful....!
Ya know what I think I love best about all the folks I meet here who live out their giftings like you do?
It is the image of Christ I see i them.
Good to meet you....

Thanks, I'm quite fond of your name too. My folks family is from west GA around Bremen and Carrolton. Originally anyway...course now they're spread everywhere. I work with a guy who moved to Huntsville from Daphne a couple years ago. think he finally sold his house there this past spring. I'll be in Gulf Shores with my wife's family next week for Thanksgiving. Hope your holiday is great. Thanks for the note.
I'm sorry Nicholas - I got in a hurry and used the wrong name....I apologize.
I'm convinced that we all need good mentors....in life...and to help us decipher our callings.
How is the men's breakfast going? Any opportunity for a sage/mentor there?…
Brent i see you included my entry but address your comment to Gary, i will give you a quick response i am finding it tough at the moment i have been praying for a sage/mentor to come alongside and its really difficult i suspect God is asking to look…
Jonathan, I remember years ago God healed me physically of a bad back. My friend prayed for me, was not touching me herself, and I felt this warmth on my back and then presuure, more pressure, till eventually the bone that was out of place God put b…
Eve, I am a very "self protective" person, however, when God asks me to go to church or mix with christians that puts me in my "uncomftable zone" I will do it because I love His body. So I do think it is possible to be both self protective but not w…
Thanks for your comment Isha.
Gary, your example also reminds me of how Jeus walked in perfect peace....no fear...yeah! I wana know Him more too! I want that peace that flows like a river and never ends! There is SO much more in Him!
Jim, welcome back!
I was wondering how your work with your teenage son was going! I am glad Pat flushed you out of hiding!
You do remember that hiding (or passivity) is the sin of Adam don't you? We need to get back into the fray even when it scar…
A group for Cigar/Pipe enthusiasts who enjoy a good conversation a little deeper than just sports or politics (although those topics aren't necessarily off limits!).
Was praying for you Deborah - that He would shine His light so you will be able to see the truth from the lies, renounce "agreements" you have made, and come into a larger place of freedom . . .
When studying the verse, "Come unto me (Jesus) all ye who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest. Learn of me, for I am meek and gentle of heart," I read one author defining meek as being the opposite of anger - which led me to James whe…
Just joined Ransomedheart.net... I'm in Colorado Springs and an aspiring writer, and looking for others who appreciate a walk with God that extends beyond "traditional" church walls. i see this group is small... but maybe we can stir things up? I lo…
