I appreciate the comments. I haven't been here in a while because I just felt like giving up. I trusted God to work in several situations, and they all went to pot. I prayed and things got worse. So I said whats the use. Did come here because I was…

I attended the Ransomed Heart Conference in Washington, DC. RH quite literally saved my life. I was dying, spiritually for sure, but I felt God telling me that if I didn't change, I would die physically as well. That is when I found RH. All the feelings that I had and had been told were wrong were validated, and God became real. Not a distant being only interested in dropping the gavel and pronouncing me guilty. My life has never been the same. Much more willing to be a radical Christian and not worry about fitting in.

A little more about myself. I am married to Kim and have two grown children, Joshua and Rebekah. My son is married to Amanda and has two children, Benjamin and Faith. I work as a Respiratory Care Practitioner. I have a diploma in Resp Care and a BS in Pastoral Studies and Bible.
I am a cylist, I bicycled 2700 miles last year, ending on a high note by riding with Team In Training for the 109 mile El Tour de Tucson.
I enjoy reading, hunting (flintlock, bow, rifle, pistol), hiking, just being outdoors. But my all time favorite hobby is being E.O. to Benjamin and Faith. E.O. is the name Benjamin picked for me and I love it.
My prayer is to be able to get back into full time ministry. I've wondered 20 long years through sin and depression praying that God still wants to use me. The enemy has used depression and discouragement to the full in my life and I'm tired of being defeated and of little value.
This site has been an incredible blessing to me. Thanks to all of you!

Tired

Did you ever just get plain ole' tired? Tired of everything? Tired of all the bs? Tired of your job? Tired of being nice to people? I recently watched "Gran Torino", with Clint Eastwood, and I could relate to his character. I just want to say stuff like that every now and again. I just get tired of being politically emasculated to the point that you can't even express your feelings to anyone or trust anyone. I believe we are coming to the end. If not of the world, which will be soon, America as… Continue

Prayer request

Hi all! I would like to ask you to pray for my wife Kim. Ahe has struggled with health issues for quite a few years. She has hypertension, diabetes and has had two small strokes. She continues to get compound migraines and trans-ischemic (mini strokes) attacks. Last night, she had another one. She didn't know who I was (we've been married 29 yrs), kept saying her Dad was her ( he died in 1983) and basically was unable to function. Today is still a struggle. It seems she has a harder time recover… Continue

Echo's of The Trinity

In "Wild At Heart", John talks about us being "Echo's of the Trinity". That phrase was an inspiration to me and I wrote this poem of that title. I hope you enjoy.

Echo’s Of The Trinity

Recklessly abandon in our love for Christ
Ever pressing onward, toward eternal life
Created in His Image, wild at heart to be.
We hear it in our spirit,
Echo’s of the Trinity

Within each, we can’t deny it,
Set in our heart, eternity.
Our guide, the constant Morning Star, and
Echo’s of the Trinity

As the Eagle… Continue

Oops!!

Well, I clicked on a wrong button and I think I deleted Rick's comment. Sorry my friend! It was unintentional. I guess I still have to work at getting the hang of this blog stuff. Oh well. I'll keep trying. Thank goodness God is patient with us Worts and all!

Addicted to Chapstick!

I'm new to this so bear with me! This is a blog for anyone. Sometimes you just need to blow off at someone or something. Here is your chance. Title comes from the picture. I did a 109 mile bicycle ride for the Leukemia Society in Tucson AZ. Tucson Med Ctr was giving away chapstick. The discussion and tomfoolery insued and come to find out, our body produces enough moisture to hydrate our lips, but because most of us are dehydrated, we add chapstick, making our lips think they are ok and we quit… Continue

Hey, David...

Just checking up on you.
How are you doing today?
I'm concerned about your heart because you sounded a bit discouraged in the "Tired" blog....
Dad...
Look at David.
He longs to see your face...your return to earth.
I'm sure that makes you smile. It certainly would me!

Abundantly...no even exceedingly abundantly...pour out encouragement to him.
Do the same with hope, joy, peace, love, faith, strength, and endurance.
May his eyes always be locked onto your face so that he will be transformed to the point that people really don't know whether they are looking at him or at You.

Thank you for my brother. Thank you for being The Answer.
And thank you for hearing my prayer for David that I ask in Jesus' name.

Amen

Hi David. This is Andy. We are praying for you and your wife and your marriage.
I am connected to TNT because a couple of years ago, when I was a new cyclist, I was looking for a group experience that combined my newfound appreciation for cycling with doing something for others. I found TNT. That year, I went to Tahoe and my pedal separated from the crank a mere 5 miles into the ride. I was done in the first 20 minutes. I went back in 2008 and finished the route. I was strong and thanked God for allowing me to finish and giving me the strength to finish. Stephen rode on my handlebars the whole way!
This year, we are riding in the local MS150, as Patty mentioned. We have a friend who was diagnosed with MS last year. It is interesting to have a no-kidding personal connection. As I always say, I ride for those who can't.

Dave,
This is Patty. I haven't seen any recent updates on your wife, Kim. Please keep us posted of how you and Kim (family) are doing.
You and Kim are never alone because God is always with us!
With Faith, love & hope. Sincerely, Patty

Dave,
This is Andy's wife, Patty. I will be sure to let him know you left a comment for him. We both ride for not only the Leukemia Society but also for MS. We ride for many reasons, another in memory of our son, Stephen (7 yrs), who died from a drowning accident of August 2007.
We will keep you and Kim in our thoughts and prayers. Keep praying to God and don't lose heart, guard it no matter what happens because we are not from this world. Sincerely, Patty
