Far too often I am told, by the most pious of course, to pray. They say pray and God will hear you and deliver you! I must confess: I've prayed once this month. Please don't misunderstand my words; I very much believe in God. There is no doubt in my…

In every way I always try to step outside of the box and take a full panoramic of what's going on around me. It would seem the more I see and the more I learn, the less I actually know. Perhaps it is a curse, that all men should be blind, but I know…

Incredible wisdom sir. Most argue, fight and struggle to hold on to the dust running through their fingers because they are afraid to look down the road and away from the bowl of pottage. Very few I have ever heard or read, talk of shaking off the…

Jim, I suppose I meant to address the 'juice' that makes a man. I would never infer men in harsher periods were by any means any more loving or 'kind'. Logic simply doesn't support such a theory. However, what I am addressing is the indifferent men…

August, gotta tell you, you do have quite a fight. I appreciate your honesty and the way you described each area of your life. You mentioned advice, I'll throw you two books that ought to put you in the right direction. First read The Noticer by And…

Good post. August, do you really think men were better "once upon a time"? When they had multiple wives and concubines, when an eye for an eye was the true law of the land, kinder or more loving then than now? Perhaps... love will grow cold before…

I begged God today.

I begged God today.

I begged that He would deliver me from myself. I have for the longest time been unable to look in the mirror and recognize myself. Lost in this whirlpool of confusion and emotion I am constantly tossed about, unable to grasp any solid piece of reality. I cannot recognize my own face. My heart is heavy with the weight of so many chains bound upon it.

To be candid I am a wicked man. I am both a coward and weakling. I am undependable, selfish, and cannot see p… Continue

Red "Already Over"

...carries so much truth. To realize as a man that you are not what you should be and that there is no other option left but to let go...that's powerful. This message resonates with me on a level that I can physically feel deep in my chest. How many times do you as a man feel as though you have completely failed? How often do you see yourself as less then the man you know you have the potential to be?

Quick and short I know but if one should find the time to listen to this song it has p… Continue

God broke my heart...again.

Far too often I am told, by the most pious of course, to pray. They say pray and God will hear you and deliver you! I must confess: I've prayed once this month. Please don't misunderstand my words; I very much believe in God. There is no doubt in my mind He is the Creator. Yet, is He is the Provider as well? Everyone always tell me how great God is and they're always happy and smiling, jubilant eyes dancing about sparkling in the light. They're giddy and fully of energy, always deeply in touch w… Continue

Are you blind? *Long piece, don't read if easily bored

In every way I always try to step outside of the box and take a full panoramic of what's going on around me. It would seem the more I see and the more I learn, the less I actually know. Perhaps it is a curse, that all men should be blind, but I know that through constant struggle and fortitude, one may ascertain that sight if he only reach deep enough to find Jesus. I believe a man/woman must come, through faith, to that most still of places in the soul to really meet Jesus. In order to love

Faith

I often use these blogs like great wellsprings for my thoughts. Perhaps they are a conduit for that quiet language that issues from the heart in melodious grace. I have been reflecting on faith these past days and as I lay quietly in bed snuggled up to the woman of whom I've loved so much, the thought came to me that a man in the end, must always pass away. Our bodies like the lilies of the field wither and and wilt. In it lies great comfort for me. One may infer that to find such peace in the b… Continue

Pat, Yes, these Agates are milestones. We haven't been camping for years. Some of these stones are from Agate Beach but most of these were found here in the San Francisco area. The Agates at Agate Beach aren't as big but just as pretty.

These are so beautiful, Gary. Makes we want to go to Agate Beach and start my own collection. I keep a small collection of pretty rocks and stones I’ve found here and there, but these are incredible. And even better are the memories that are attache…
