We Are Meant for More

I remember when I was saved five years ago. My prayer to God that day was “God, there has to be something more than this. I have been going to church for years and I don’t see any difference there than what I see in people at work. There has got to be something more than this same old thing”. And what God showed me, was: Yes, there was more. Much more. And the “much more” was Jesus. That late night, rather, very early morning, He revealed Himself, and showed me His awesome love for me.

TrueFaced/Bo's Cafe and The Room of Grace

I read a book recently on a book called TrueFaced and am currently leading a small group studying it. Its wonderful, highly recommended.

TrueFaced, among other things, is about living transparently, and honestly with God, trusting Him with the Real You. It is also about trusting others with the real you as well.

In the book the authors talk about two different rooms: A Room of Good Intentions and a Room of Grace.

In the Room of Good Intentions ther

Celebrating the Death of Jesus Christ

I don't know what it is about the formating here when I copy and paste something from my blog, but it always looks screwy here for me. Anyway, if the format bugs you, you can read this post at my blog:

Good Friday is coming up this week, the day when the church traditionally honors the death of Jesus. I love Good Friday. But for a

Resting in Your Belovedness

From my blog at http://livingfree77.wordpress.com/ I would encourage reading it there, the formatting is better. For some reason it looks like messy when I paste it here.

I don’t know whats up with me this morning. My heart feels heavy, near breaking. I a

well depends on what type of beer you enjoy now. The initial investment is as low as $150 for the equipment needed. (it can go up in $ from there) When you brew a batch of beer. It usually yields 5 gallons - 48/16 oz bottles and it costs about $30-35 for the ingredients to brew 5 gallons.

As you get into it there are ways to save money such as; all-grain brewing, cultivating your own yeast, kegging instead of bottling, sharing batches with brewing buddies. If you are used to drinking the american lagers (bud, miller, coors) it's hard to make a beer that would be cheaper than those. But if you are into full flavor, micro brew style beer it's a good way to save money and also experiment with flavors and ingredients.

I think it's super fun. I like to give the beer away for gifts, house warming gifts. And it's just a cool thing to be able to know the brewing process. I highly recommend it, it's a good hobby.

Yes Tim, it is a heavy thought. We have four children, three boys and one girl. The youngest one is 21 and the oldest is now 30 years old. I thought that I took Proverbs 18:21 ("Death and life are in the power of the tongue...") pretty seriously, bu…

Yeah, I partake in a local program that deals with woundings, both male and female. It's amazing the woundings that come from one's parents. As a Dad myself, its a really heavy thought.

Yes Tim, it is a very worthy discussion. Last August a couple of area churches sponsored Men's Fraternity. I decided to go and was surprised when the first six weeks of the curriculum was centered on various aspects of "men's wounds". Because of my…

Two years ago, my wife and I moved back to the farm where I grew up to take care of my Dad, who is now 87. Honestly, my growing up years (I was born in 1955) were kind of like an episode of "Father Knows Best" or "Leave It To Beaver" (I would have b…
