Hello fellow bloggers! I also have a personal blog that, as an associate professor at Kansas State University, I write to reach university students, faculty, etc. Feel free to follow along and comment if you wish: Finding Meaning and Purpose at the University

I blog at beandkeepbeing.blogspot.com and share my thoughts on faith and walking with God... what it looks like to "be and keep being" as God continues his great work in my life and heart. Feel free to follow along!

It began back in 2008 when God lead me to a deeper walk with him. He had me reading more devotionals daily, and in this daily time holding me under conviction, he wanted me to share with others what I was reading. So I sent out an email to those in my little group to see who might be interested. I had quite a reply. This did actually three things for me. One I was being obedient to what the Lord wanted me to do. Two I was sharing with others, three, I was really getting on a closer walk with the Lord. Funny how the Lord works. In August 2010 the Lord laid a title on my heart, he also laid a scrpiture. The title is "HOW TO BE A CHRISTIAN IN EVERYDAY LIFE"

PSALM 5:3

My voice You shall hear in the morning, oh Lord; In the morning I will direct it to you and I will look up…

All I did was open word pad, and put the title, and the scripture HE led me to and HE began to write. Today, October 14, 2012, I have recored 92 story messages HE has led me to write. ALL have something to begin with that I have experienced on my journey with HIM. I asked HIM to be Lord and Saviour over my life back in December of 1981. Thirty one  years ago this comeing december. HE inspires me to write. I do not stress over what to write, or when to write, but once HE leads me to write something watch out. He has no lead me to publish. I have alot of people read them, and encourage me to write a book, but GOD has not opened a door , and with HIM opening it, it is impossible for me, financially. SO untill HE opens it , I will keep writing, hoping to encourage others on there journey and to inspire them to continue to live for HIM even through difficulties. I write because I LOVE HIM !

Pot a-stir, indeed.  So what if...let's say one of us holding with white knuckles to the claim "writer," wants someone (anyone?) from this gang to help look at his/her "stuff," would this be the place to go and would any of you be one of the "someone's" or even "anyone's" to lend an eye, some heart, maybe a hand?  See, I'm waaay not a writer.

Ha! All I had to do was stir the pot and watch everyone come out of the woodwork! Don't have much to add. I'll post my thoughts from the writers' conference next week.

Interesting.  All those handsome member photos of writers and so little action.  Ok, I'm in. Again.  Hey, maybe you're all writing and don't have time to keep an IV drip in this outfit. It is not easy to find like-heartedness among savvy writing cohorts.  I thot this would be the place.  I'm willing to connect and dialog, contribute guest posts and such. On my own agenda is writing the book (Generational Fathering), a related blog, w.gendads blog, a personal blog, Wild Gray Goose (w.newseason.us), and w.LegacyDad.  You can figger out the Net connectivity if you're interested.

And here's the 3 C's that "dawn" on you along life's journey... they are not always in precision; but that's the beauty of life's journey!

Circumctance

Choice

Consequence

(I don't know what to do with "chance" that keeps trying to enter this...) Any thoughts on where "chance" may fit in along the daily paths we choose?

All write, today is a good day for writing...

Free your mind-

Focus on what you are

Feeling, and

Forget rules, just let it

Flow-----------

(Dawn's famous five F-rule for writers).

So, Son of Kortje, I've finally shared why I write. Am noting my writing friends are most registered passivists...well, or just lurking awaiting a worthy post.

Here's one I posted on your dad's warrior group, and would like my writing comrades to consider answering the two questions our book needs stories for.

Matt and Taylor and I returned two weeks ago from that pack-in wilderness rite of passage. You'll find our blog post series on www.GenDad.com instructional, maybe inspirational. Or just good fellowship in the initiation process.

Matt and I looking for positive (or even painful) legacy stories for our book, Generational Fathering, that illustrates the impact of one generation of fathers on another. Any illustrations of intentional legacy out of godliness, prayer, and generational mentoring? Or, maybe, tales of the residue from "sins of the fathers" from which God intervened and broke grandfather's bent?

One more question: Can you or anyone you know provide an illustration of father and son (step and in-laws included, maybe an uncle or even a surrogate) working together, intentional or "just happened", to co-parent in order to amplify the potential of positive godly legacy?
