Prayer of the Day/Encouraging Word of the Day

Matthew 22:36-39:
“‘Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the law?’ Jesus replied, ‘Love the Lord your
God with all of your heart and with all of your soul and with all of your mind.’ This is the first
and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”

So what do you do, when you've done all you can do, and you're still addicted to sex/porn? I've studied all the pertinent scriptures. Ive done the prayer and fasting. Ive asked the Holy Spirit. Ive done the prayer and bible reading. Ive done the accountability partners. Ive done the SA meetings and Celebrate Recovery. Ive attended the seminars and tried to get counselling. Ive been to the deliverance ministers. I've done the white-knuckling. Is there something Ive missed? What do I do, since part of me likes it? Is hard to fight what you like, but Ive been trying for years. Its been 10 years...what am I missing? I don't beleive for a second that it cant be done, not when He is involved...

20 members and no one besides Toby talks? Hmm...

Anyway...thanks for allowing me to jump in. Ive been battling impurity, sex and porn addiction for the entire 13 years Ive been born again. No church Ive attended has been able to help me, and most wouldn't even try. Ive recently moved to an area with a very weak church presence, and I dont expect to find help from them. But I can't very well just do nothing. I found this forum looking for some WAH men in my new area, and I'm glad to see you. I'm very vocal, and I shoot straight, and invite the men here to be the same with me.

Everyday i wake up and realize God has blessed me with another opportunity to honor and glorify him. This is a privilege that we all have taken for granted. We need to start every day by asking God how we can glorify him today.

I hope you find your life being blessed by God's wonderful love and mercy. Even when life knocks you down and you are broken and bleeding, and when you cant seem to go on. When it seems that you are getting back up then life kicks you in the mouth. Just remember God loves you and is always there for you and embrace his love and accept his mercy and grace.

I am glad to hear that Kevin. That was the purpose in starting this group. I wanted everyone to feel safe and have a place to get help.

Joeseph I feel your pain. The thing that i want to do is to be here to listen to you and merely offer you a place to pour out your heart without any type of judgement. If you want to talk let me know and let me know how you want me to talk with you. I can just sit and listen with no advice and no trying to fix you. I will only offer advice when asked. Truth is sometimes we just need a safe place to go to get the pain out.

Joseph: You ARE forgiven. When you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, He forgave you for ALL your sins. ALL means ALL. No sin that you have committed since the moment that you accepted Him as your Saviour was unknown to Him when He forgave you at that time. None of your failures are a surprise to Him. That is one of the reasons why there is NO condemnation to you, since you are in Christ. The issue is not whether or not you will sin, but what you do with your sin:

1 John 1:7-2:2

"7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

9 If we confess [to say the same thing as another, i.e. to agree with] our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

1 My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.

2 And He Himself is the propitiation [full payment] for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world."

The conviction of the Holy Spirit leads us to the light; to confession. The condemnation of the enemy leads us to darkness; to denial.

You have done the right thing by confessing your weakness, and Christ has already forgiven you and cleansed you.

I have been struggling again lately. Things get difficult at work and I really find myself wanting to turn to a false promise to help medicate the pain. I stumbled and looked at things on the computer that I know I shouldn't. Now I find that viewing it leaves me feeling empty and it leaves a bad feeling in my stomach. I am praying for the Lord's forgiveness that he will continue to give me strength to remain in Him and help me to prevail in this battle.

amen Kevin I am learning that same lesson. I hope I can remain humble and allow the Lord to change my heart and my mind.
