I was just wondering, is it possible to outgrow a relationship? And if so, is it possible to outgrow a marriage partner?

One question to ask the Lord.
One question...no more.
If I met Him and He was frowning
I guess I'd want to know where I failed.
And if there was a way for me
to still change that broken trail.
But If I should meet Him and He is smiling.
I'm sure my mind would be so elated
That any question I might conceive
would be totally abated.
For the questions that crowd my mind today
would be answered in a smile or a frown.
By arms that turn me away
or welcome me in to stay.

That's a good one. When I ponder that a lot of things come to mind...but I think the thing I really, really want to know, and fight for others to believe is this: "You are above all else compassionate, right?" Kind of like how my little kids need to ask me questions they already know the answers too just to be sure they are on the right track. I just want to look in his eyes and hear him say "Yes!"

Yvette, that was a really interesting insite into what happened after Elihu gave his response to Job. I had overlooked that and looking back on this past week I have spent a little extra time in the book of Job -- specifically focusing on Elihu's words -- I was questioning to myself if I could trust - or take comfort for myself - in any of what Elihu spoke because I really wanted to but I had also known that God reprimanded Job's friends and I didn't remember that Elihu had not been included in God's instruction.
Now on to one of my "big" questions! (I wouldn't want to throw them all out there at once.) I'll post it in the discussions group... okey dokey? :0)

RE: Job.....don't forget his friend Elihu. He had a lot of good things to say to Job and his other friends! And it was after Elihu spoke that God started to speak. When God told his three friends to make sacrifices and have Job pray for them for speaking what was wrong, Elihu was not included by God in that instruction.

Hi Dawne, I agree with Clive, give it a try if you feel the responses are more like Job's comforters then all you need to remember is that all te responses here are just our opinions, and you can simply ignore them.

I have found that it possible to disagree here without having to be right! Which is a grace that allows for freedom to express opinions and search others views and opinions too.

That does not mean that religious opinions are not expressed here too, we are an ecclectic bunch here!

Hi Dawne.
I started this one because I am the kind of person who tends to question the status quo, and I have questions that just don't seem to get answered in traditional Christianity. I say 'traditional', because some of the teaching I have endured over the years has not helped, and actually has done alot of damage. So I thought it would be a good place to 'air' your views and comment on others, in a non-confrontational place; no condemnation, no airs and graces, and just throwing out some ideas and opinions. I don't think there's any harm in offering an opinion, (within certain parameters obviously). Not sure what you mean by "unmoderated"; hopefully we can all temper our own opinions and responses with love and patience, not relying on a third party to set boundaries which resemble an over- controlling environment that resembles the "religious authorities" that you already say you 'mistrust'.
Throw in a question......go on, you know you want to... ;)

Hello... New to the website here and just checking out a few groups. Wondering how this one works. Everybody has questions and sometimes a lot of people who think they have the answer really shouldn't be offering it. (keeping in mind about Job's trials and the rebuke his friends received from God for offering 'advice' concerning God's nature.) So I guess my first question is "Is this just a place to put up a question with unmoderated answers...?" I'm confessing up front that I have trust issues with 'religious authorities'... but I'm very hungry for spiritual relationship that's not religious or cliche.

Sure Michelle - Tim and I are both British so that one is easy to explain, the dispute consultant bit is jargon really. I have worked in Dispute resolution for around 20 years and I am not sure how long Tim has been, but I do know he is a Mediator and that I have just finished a course that will (hopefully) qualify me to act as a Mediator too. So that is the meaning behind my cryptic clue!

Thank you Michelle!

It is good to meet you too!

Hey Tim!! Do these folk know that they have invited two British Disputes consultants into this place do you think?
