What Is This War?

I was about to launch into the discussion about how "beginners" would fight the war or learn how to fight, when it was closed. Slammed the door in my face so to speak. Probably just as well, someone…Continue

That was very powerful. Sums up everything you see christians doing. The pastor at Open Door gave a 3 week talk on legalism, the look, the lure and then grace. Check it out on http://www.thedoor.org

Geez, I think all of you should sit back with a beer or glass of wine and call it a day . . . .

Warning: he drops the "f" bomb a couple times in this poem. I know that might offend some people, but I still think this is worth listening to for the substance. It's a good way of saying "I'm sorry for repeating the same crap in different ways that I myself would even denounce." And it covers a lot of ground, from personal offenses to historical abuses.

Thanks Sue. I'm sorry I've been so reactionary and knee-jerky too ... I know that doesn't help matters. That tends to be how I get when I feel put on the defensive. It's not one of my more endearing traits, I'm afraid. ^_^

I was encouraging that we not form categorical judgments, hasty or otherwise. That's all.

I think I may have lost the plot here. Moriah are you encouraging "caustic" comments, or thinking that they may a good thing and we should continue in such vein. What if I were to change the idea to damaging or discouraging comments, would that make a difference? I may have been born in England but I don't profess to be any good at "English" so sometimes my word choice may not be the best when you disect them.

As for the rest of what you said, Martin, I think it's an excellent idea. It's where I started out here, where I intended to speak from, and what I aimed for all along. I don't care for being put on the defensive anyway, so I'm only too happy to go back to exposing the lies, schemes, charades and machinations of the enemy.

"Caustic" is a fascinating word. It means "capable of burning, corroding, or destroying living tissue." In nature there are plants (and probably animals too) which develop caustic properties with the precise intent to discourage potential predators from eating them.

There are many ways to fend off potential predators; this is only one of them. Not every critter can simply just choose to be or become stronger or cleverer than that which wants to take them down, so for some, they avoid getting destroyed, slaughtered and devoured by predators by being absolutely distasteful to bite into. It is as if they are saying, OK, maybe I'm not strong enough to put you down when you attack; maybe I'm not fast enough to outrun you; but if you bite into me it's gonna taste awful for you, and if you claw me open you're gonna get poison in your veins that will make you sorry you ever tried.

Somehow, I'm having trouble seeing that as a bad thing.

Can I join in girls? It seems we may be on to something here. We all know that the fight is not against flesh (sarx), the Greek is better translated as flesh in its fallen state. Therefore I know or rather hope that some of the caustic comments are not personal. The best description I have found of this style of battle was from a Pastor in Galilee whose father was killed in a concentration camp. He said to me that he did not hate Germans, but detested the "spirit of Nazism." If we can get a handle on the war, start to expose the system for what it is, remove its invisible coating and show up its illegitimacy, make a public spectacle of it if you like, then surely this will cause some serious damage. So serious in fact that it is obviously trying to shut down any sensible discussion, free thinking people are not its friends. Perhaps we are all approaching this fight head on which seldom works, playing the world at its own game. We need to change the game. Die to the control of the Powers and transcend all of the lies and delusional assumptions they try to foist upon us. Could we put all the posts so far out of our minds, forgive where necessary and start afresh, with a new pespective and a new purpose and start to focus our "attacks" on all those spiritual forces recognising where their material manifestations appear, which shouldn't be among us.

Sue, I never once suggested that God's word did not say to forgive. His word says a lot of things. Forgive is one of them. Repent is another. Own up and ask forgiveness is another. I'll tell you what. You go to the persons who attack me and you talk to THEM about how THEY should be "dealing with" me, and then you can come to me and talk to me about how I should "deal with" them. Until then, that door is closed, because I'm not going to accept the lie that I'm the only person in the universe who is supposed to take everything, everyone, and every situation entirely upon myself. When all you people who supposedly have it all so much more together than I do and your conduct is so much more pristine and perfect than mine STOP throwing criticism in my face and start MODELING what it is you think I should be doing, then maybe there will be room for these conversations. But not before. The problem is, you are saying one thing and doing another. You are telling me "don't strive in the flesh" but you are sitting here throwing criticism at me and finger-pointing at me while doing it. You are not functioning from a place of parity and truth but disparity and bias, taking it upon yourself to criticize me but you don't say a word to your friend about provoking conflict after you both assured me you were mature enough to listen to my point of view without instigating a disagreement bicker-fest over it. So you start arguing me instead, and she starts arguing me, and then when I hold my ground on my position she starts attacking me personally. Yes, you can say it is my responsibility to not get dragged in but what about your responsibility to not seek to drag me in? What about hers? I'm not trying to say I have no responsibility, I'm trying to say I'm sick of people acting like all responsibility and fault is mine while they seem to think they can act toward me any way they please. It's not going to fly.
