I was looking for something else when Celtic caught my eye.  Oh, yeah!  I've got quite a story related to my Cameron clan roots.  You may be interested in my personal blog,…Continue

Good to hear from you Gary. It sounds like you need someone to help you battle through the crap you are going through right now. I'd like to be an intercessor for you. So I bring the Kingdom of God and the Authority of Jesus Christ over you Gary and I bind all foul spirits, expecially those of depression, despair, fear, exhaustion and all others that are attacking you and I send them to the throne of Jesus for judgment, and I ask Jesus to replace those sprirts with his Warring Angels to protect you from further attacks.  Remember Joshua 1:9 brother.

As far as what I'm going to do with my boys to prep them goes, I'm trying to listen to our Father, in fact I'm pretty sure that he told me that I needed to build them the tree fort, so that's what I did, with the boys help.  You see I've been telling them how I grew up in the woods building tree forts and such, and the bell finally rung and I decided to build one with them.  We're not done yet, we only have the platform and some of the sides on, but they already have a sense of pride and accomplishment.  A funny side bar to this is that I was looking out my patio door this week and I saw them running accross the platform and jumping the six feet to the ground. My daughter and wife would have had a coronary.

I'm going to build them us by trying to enhance the sense of adventure, and exploration that they already have by hiking in the woods and inviting Jesus along. You and I already know that He's there, and I have told the boys about it, but I'm going to emphasis the fact to them. While we're hiking we'll be talking about the wilderness that Jesus and David escaped to for restoration and renewal. I want them to know that it was a place of safety for Jesus and David and it can be for them too. I want them to find their hearts and to let them know that I'll always have their backs. Essentially I want to bring Christ into our little band of brothers.

The fire pit is going to play a pretty important part in this training too.  We'll tell tall tales, talk about the warriors in the Bible, including Jesus, pray some, discuss or favorite movies (Avengers, Gladiator, Braveheart, etc.) and of course sear some animal flesh (hot dogs) and roast some marshmallows. I just want them to be boys with a heart for our Lord.

I could go on for hours, but I'd better get to work. Let's talk again very soon.

Strength & Honor,

Bob

OK, easy on my heart dear wild one.  Fort, tree house, The Battle, grandwonderkind...this is the stuff that bring a smile past the discomfort.  I head out to my six in two weeks,  staying thru the new year.

What I'd like to task you with is just, zackly, what are you or will you be doing to build them up for the battle.  If you write enough, I might actually give you cred in my book...assuming I get er done.  By the way where you at?

Gary it's good to hear from you.  I pray for strength and comfort for you.  You're far from done.

I've been away from this site far too long.  I've been in the battle with my band of brothers, but not communicating on RH.net, but now I'm back and will use this to do what I can to battle our enemy and encourage others.

My grandson's keep me going in my quest for the Wild Goose.  Their energy, passion and innocense help to remind me of the importance of fighting for them and the rest of my family.  The five of us built a tree fort a couple of Saturdays ago, and watching them play in it since strengthens me.  My next task is to train them for the battle ahead, teaching them to pray and live as young warriors, the tree fort is a good start.  I'm really looking forward to the stories and conversations around the fire.

All of this shows me how much I depend on the Lord.  Their Mom (My youngest daughter) went through a divorce from their Dad.  If I didn't have our Father to lean on I don't think that I could help them.

'The "Wild GRAY Goose" checking in.  My wings have been clipped by 4th stage prostate cancer, but the spirit and the journey only differ now in shorter flights heading to the same destination.  Brokenness remains the great leveler for we who follow the wild goose.  This time it's cancer.  What does the Lord lay on you to magnify your dependence on Him?

Let's get this cranked up again.  How's everyone doing out there?

Comment by Gary Taylor on August 31, 2010 at 5:30pm
Asleep? Dead? Just lurking? Of my Celtic comrades probably the latter, patiently waiting in the tall grass. Sorry to see this one fade into the bogs and heather.

How about this if anyone is getting this:

Dormant, or just "lurking"? Never mind. Still, do these two questions raise any interest?

Any body in this group have a story for us?

"Us" is Matt and I looking for positive (or painful) legacy story for our book, Generational Fathering, that illustrates the impact of one generation of fathers on another? Illustrations of intentional legacy out of godliness, prayer, and generational mentoring? Or, maybe, tale of the thoughtless residue from "sins of the fathers" from which God intervene and broke grandfather's bent?

One more question: Can you or anyone you know provide an illustration of father and son (step and inlaws included, maybe an uncle or even a surrogate) working together, intentional or "just happened", to co-parent in order to amplify the potential of postive godly legacy?

Brother's, I thought that it would be fitting to put this prayer here. I hope that it blesses you, like it has me; that it strengthens you, like it has me; and that it gives you hope in the love of our Father, like it has me. Strength!

St. Patricks Breastplate
St Patrick Breast Plate
I arise today
Through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity,
Through the belief in the threeness,
Through confession of the oneness
Of the Creator of Creation.
I arise today
Through the strength of Christ's birth with his baptism,
Through the strength of his crucifixion with his burial,
Through the strength of his resurrection with his ascension,
Through the strength of his descent for the judgment of Doom.
I arise today
Through the strength of the love of Cherubim,
In obedience of angels,
In the service of archangels,
In hope of resurrection to meet with reward,
In prayers of patriarchs,
In predictions of prophets,
In preaching of apostles,
In faith of confessors,
In innocence of holy virgins,
In deeds of righteous men.
I arise today
Through the strength of heaven:
Light of sun,
Radiance of moon,
Splendor of fire,
Speed of lightning,
Swiftness of wind,
Depth of sea,
Stability of earth,
Firmness of rock.
I arise today
Through God's strength to pilot me:
God's might to uphold me,
God's wisdom to guide me,
God's eye to look before me,
God's ear to hear me,
God's word to speak for me,
God's hand to guard me,
God's way to lie before me,
God's shield to protect me,
God's host to save me
From snares of devils,
From temptations of vices,
From everyone who shall wish me ill,
Afar and anear,
Alone and in multitude.
I summon today all these powers between me and those evils,
Against every cruel merciless power that may oppose my body and soul,
Against incantations of false prophets,
Against black laws of pagandom
Against false laws of heretics,
Against craft of idolatry,
Against spells of witches and smiths and wizards,
Against every knowledge that corrupts man's body and soul.
Christ to shield me today
Against poison, against burning,
Against drowning, against wounding,
So that there may come to me abundance of reward.
Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me,
Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ on my right, Christ on my left,
Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit down, Christ when I arise,
Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me,
Christ in every eye that sees me,
Christ in every ear that hears me.
I arise today

Through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity,
Through belief in the threeness,
Through confession of the oneness,
Of the Creator of Creation.

Gentlemen - Just returned from Colorado. It was magnificent! Save your money, get the time off, and just go. Don't get me wrong, I love Heart Rev and David and the guys, but, really, it is not the same.

An aside - during a session this morning talking about challenges and attacks and such, Craig McConnell mentioned he has been diagnosed with leukemia. Didn't get into how bad it was, what stage, or anything, but pray for him and the entire Ransomed Heart team.

Bob, I am praying and will certainly continue praying about Jim.
