Comment by Steve on January 18, 2013 at 7:05pm This isn't something I wrote. I was just having a little fun with my Telecaster, playing a simple 12-bar blues to an online backing track. The sound quality is not the best but I hope you like it.

Comment by Steve on May 2, 2012 at 9:08am I recently purchased this Paul Baloche songwriting instructional DVD. It's a very well done DVD and is only 30 bucks. My song-writing has stepped up, although my time allotment dedicated to writing has not gone up. Paul speaks mostly of the inspirational moments to write songs, then give lots of techniques and glimpses into what he does to write.
Then he brings in fellow songwriters who also give hints into different ways to write.
This DVD is for the songwriter who wishes to write worship songs, but I think could be adapted to anyone who is writing more of a performance-oriented music.
I highly recommend this DVD. It has helped me a lot, especially with lyrics, which has always been my weakness in writing.
Comment by Steve on March 20, 2012 at 8:08am Thank you, Jessica. I actually messed up the words a little bit because I was so nervous. It's an easy song to play with lots of open-sounding chords. My chord structure for the song is based upon the way Paul Baloche likes to play. I would love to see some other people have some interest in this song and play it at their churches. Just let me know.

Comment by Justin Carver on October 15, 2011 at 7:51am David - I use a program called "Band in a Box" - a bit clunky with the interface, but the sounds are fantastic since they introduced "real tracks" a few years back. You type in the chords, tempo and key sig, then choose from one of 100's of styles and it generates the music. Does help if you have some music theory knowledge or have played an instrument. www.pgmusic.com
