"You need to beat your god with a hammer until either the hammer breaks, or your god."

That has to be one of the most profound statements of truth I've ever read....almost knocked the wind out of me!

For ME there are so many... Here are 5 random ones.

-A Narrative of the Life of David Crockett written by Himself. Geat man that overcame tremendous obstacles.

-Marine! by Burke Davis (Bio of LtGen Lewis B. "Chesty" Puller, USMC). Possibly the fightin-est Marine that ever lived. Made William Wallace and Patton look like pansies. "We're surrounded; we've got the ChiComs right where we want 'em!" Classic Chesty line. Google or wiki Chesty.

Lee: The Last Days by Flood. Truly inspirational how Marse Robert overcame his Wound.

Where did you read that statement? it IS profound. Maybe we should start hitting everything we hold dear in life with a big hammer - including our "gods". The winner takes all. I hope that for all of us it will be Christ Jesus.

Christian books that have been crucial to my walk personally (excludind several Eldrige titles):
1) How People Grow - Cloud Townsend
2) Victory Over the Darkness - Neil T. Anderson
3) Ruthless Trust - Brennan Manning
4) No Man is an Island - Thomas Merton
5) The Final Quest - Rick Joyner

Also, just finished a biography called ''Martin Luther King Jr: a Life'' by Marshall Frady who was a young Newsweek correspondant that followed King around throughout the civil rights movement and wrote a very objective, honest account with very insightful descriptions of the spiritual forces being played out; rocked my FACE off.
