Pornography is an elephant in the room, silently killing our church. It is time we take a stand and educate. Let’s offer people the resources needed to take back control of their lives and overcome their addiction.

Comment by Cindy Rush on September 15, 2012 at 8:48am My husband is into his 93rd day of "sobriety" from pornography. He has struggled with this addiction for over 40 years. A crisis finally "forced the scales from his eyes."
Churches largely ignore this problem, and yet 50% of all church attenders have viewed a pornographic website at least once a week every week.

Comment by Jaren Hoffman on April 29, 2011 at 2:37pm "The human heart is depraved and sinful to the core. There is no filter for the human heart. All we have is Christ alone to save us."
This was written by who I assume is a Christian regarding porn. While I understand where this person is coming from, his view is not necessarily accurate. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says "This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!"
I'm not saying that sin is no longer an issue nor am I excusing the sin of looking at porn, but I refuse to believe that we are a helpless, inferior people in Christ. The Bible says in Proverbs 4:23 "Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life." Paul in Ephesians talks about the Armor of God. We are in a war whether we want to be or not. God gives us real spiritual armor to fight through this stuff. Will we fail? Will we make mistakes? Yes, but just because we fail we are not failures! To think so would be to call the Potter a fool! To say that you can do nothing but accept the fact that you are merely a sinner saved by Grace is absolute crap. Romans 8:37 says "No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us."
WE are! You and I as individuals and collectively are more than conquerors, we are over comers! Yes the heart is wicked, but are you and I not covered by the blood of Christ? Once again, I'm not excusing sin, or attempting to bypass the asking of forgiveness from God and people who we hurt, I am saying that the victory is already ours through Jesus' death and resurrection. But we need to accept it. How in the world can we honestly love others, as Christ loved them if we consider ourselves fools and idiots who can't get anything right? Answer, you can't.
The porn industry is a big plague, but who here believes that our God is bigger?
I am far from perfect myself, but I have confidence that I am loved by the God of the universe, and that He created me to be me.
