Hi everyone,  what a great site, Christians that love horses :)   I just recently joined here, I have a small riding and boarding stable in Georgetown.  We run a 11 week summer camp program and include a daily bible study for the kids and we host a ladies night, lesson and bible study every Tuesday during the summer.

This is our 3rd year at Grace and a couple of years ago I heard God tell me that I needed to go back and do shows,  um,  I don't really like to show much or go out on the show circuit, so I said no,,,, things where a bit dry for while and then last year I did actually do 2 shows and decided I should tell my husband what God had said.  Michael has been saying we should show to..

Anyway to cut a longggggg story short, I have been working on the show schedules etc, have kids that want to show and guess what, every single show horse has been taken out one horse at a time, no kidding ..... Rudy kicked the fenced and took skin and muscle out to the bone and laid his leg open by about 6 by 5 inches, he is in week 10 of healing and back in light work.  Wizard tweaked the front leg and now coming back.  Astro who has been sound sound sound, is now uneven behind, Chance is lame in the front, Cherry had some strange muscle thing going on (the vet had never seen anything like it before) she is doing much better and Streak started colicing on Sunday night and we just got him back from the vets today...... I think the enemy does not want us going or I heard wrong .

So please fellow horse lovers and brothers and sisters in Christ please would you  pray for a hedge of protection around each and every horse here at Grace Riding Stables, thank you so much.  We love our horses very much and only want what is the best for them.

Thank you
Have a blessed week
In Christ
Paula

Hopefully, Paula will provide a fuller update to all.

She took 6 riders and horses to the last TSSA show of the season, in Austin, on Saturday. We had a few disappointments and more than a few high points. One of our young riders took first place for the season in Equitation for her class. I believe that all the riders pinned in at least one or their classes.

We have more work to do, in particular, three of our horses, who can be great, were not interested in jumping. One of them came around before the end of the day. However, parents weren't upset. It was a first show for three of our girls, and they were all excited.

It was still a hard weekend, with the loss of Chloe, but we are slowly adjusting to her loss.

June 3, 2012 we had to put down Streak.  It was completely unexpected.  Saturday night, he was alert, eating and content.  Sunday morning, when the vet showed up (in only 35 minutes) and tubed him, he only got blood.  Streak's gut had ruptured.  I was in church, prepping for praise band and didn't find out until after he was gone.  I'd planned to pull him from the lesson program and spend most of my time with him learning dressage.  We'd had two shows with marked improvement.

I was totally crushed.  I'm starting to come back.  Grief is a strange thing.  I'd worked with him daily for over 4 years and was his primary rider for the last few months.  He had just turned 20 and was in fabulous condition.  Just sadness now.
