Probably can get it done with a "free" trail at a gym or something.

No I have not had it tested lately, I don't know anyone with those clippers or whatever they are called :) I don't like how my close fit me and just do not feel good about myself. People say I am not over weight which I know but I don't think there is anything wrong with wanted to be comfortable in your self...:) its just so frustrating I am doing "all the right" things but with no results.

Brenda,

Have you had your body fat % measured? Maybe you are fine. What makes you think you need to lose another 5-8 lbs?

Comment by Carlos on June 25, 2012 at 3:24pm

Brenda and all Fitness Group members,

I think I may have a solution to your problem -- whether you want to loose weight and/or put on lean muscle or just get in overall better health. I'm a new wellness coach and I have some new supplements, nutrition shakes that I have been using that's helped me get over the hump. I was able to drop 5 lbs in a week. I didn't starve myelf. I just made some changes. So if you are interested, you can message me on my page or e-mail me at coachcarlos912@gmail.com. I would tell you more but I'm not sure what the rules are for advertising products on this site are. I would be glad to help!

Hi I just joined the group..I could use some help on why I am not losing those last 5 - 8 pounds! I eat healthy and have eaten healthy for some time, exercise 6 days a week, I have done the P90X, different cardio dvds, I am now doing insanity but because of my old aging bones :) I am not able to do all the jumps so I replace them with some form of cardio...I  put on a shirt today and my arms seem to have gotten bigger !!!! my shirt sleeve was tight...I understand the building of muscel but when does the fat go away !!!!!! :)  HELP

Actually, the latest science has improved our understanding of cholesterol and disease. What is commonly called LDL is actually a combo of things, varying in size. The smallest of the LDLs is the dangerous ones. A high fat diet does increase your level, BUT not the dangerous types. Rather, what increases the dangerous types is a diet high in wheat, which when a part of a high fiber diet, actually can decrease your overall levels.

Men's Health had an article about this a few months ago, and the book Wheat Belly by William Davis, MD (a cardiologist).

If its mass your after then high quality protein is what you need, there is a difference between lean muscle mas and just mass. Both those options are high fat (if you eat the yolk) and can do damage to your cholesterol levels. Eating a clean diet 90% of the time will get you there. If you aren't against supplements then a high quality protein would be good, I use one that has a fat burner (thermogenic) to help keep the fat levels down as I put on fat easy. If that's not your problem then a mass gaining compound can be beneficial. With both make sure you cycle them. Also with both you need sufficient calories in vs out as if you burn to much then the muscle won't grown as it doesn't have the energy to replace fibres torn by lifting and you will actually lose muscle by training, that's why body builders cycle, they have a mass phase where there body fat wil go up to allow the muscle under to grow, then a cutting phase to strip of the fat and reveal that ripped look.

My coach instructed me to eat boiled eggs and peanut butter before working out to help with weight gain and protein intake. What do you all think about that any more suggestions?

Well after the holidays, I kind of lost my drive to get started in training/ exercising again and not liking what I see in the mirror :(  I really started getting closer to the Lord in serving at my church and ministering but I just need to start taking care of the temple so please pray for discipline.

Beth and I have recently join the local YMCA. I am doing strength training and she is doing cardio. We are working with a coach there and he told me to increase my protein intake. Do you have any suggestions?
