I just got a home brew kit for my birthday and I'm really excited. I just wanted to open a discussion for all you home brewers out there so we can swap stories and tips.
Just brewed a Dry Hopped Pale Ale. I hoping for a strong aroma, with a smooth citrusy finish.
Extract Recipe:
6.5 LB Pale Malt Extract
1lb 10L Crystal
1 oz Centennial (60 min)
1 oz Cascade (15min)
1.5 Whirlfloc tablet(s) (5 min)
Fermented for 7 days until the yeastys were settled
than added Dry Hops
1oz Centennial
1oz Cascade
(added hops to grain bag and sanitized some marbles to go in the bag)
I just brewed my second batch and it came out great. We call it Inkling's ale because it is an attempt at a replica of the beer the CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien would have been served at the Eagle and Child Pub.
This dry hopped pale ale that I did a few weeks ago, is going to be on my standard rotation. I love it! It cleared and conditioned in the bottle quickly, and it just tastes great! Very hoppy aroma, and citrusy flavor and feel, very drinkable.
I'm sort of at a stand still right now, not sure what to do for my next batch. I've got a hard apple cider that I need to get into bottles -It's similar to Strong bow.
Inkling's Ale sound like a winner! I'd love to try some.
I've to the ingredients to do a peach wheat, it's sort of an end of summer brew. It's a pretty standard wheat extract brew with some peach puree that it ferments on so it gets that peach hit. I'm trying to dig up a recipe for kona's pipeline porter if anyone has a good clone.
I'm sorry Nicholas - I got in a hurry and used the wrong name....I apologize.
I'm convinced that we all need good mentors....in life...and to help us decipher our callings.

Eve, I am a very "self protective" person, however, when God asks me to go to church or mix with christians that puts me in my "uncomftable zone" I will do it because I love His body. So I do think it is possible to be both self protective but not w…

Was praying for you Deborah - that He would shine His light so you will be able to see the truth from the lies, renounce "agreements" you have made, and come into a larger place of freedom . . .
When studying the verse, "Come unto me (Jesus) all ye who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest. Learn of me, for I am meek and gentle of heart," I read one author defining meek as being the opposite of anger - which led me to James whe…
