Hi Chris,
Nice to hear from you.
No we live in Qld which is much more north . We have had more problems with flooding and cyclones. Although none of these directly affected where I live.
The rest of our trip was wonderful and we had such a great time as a family. I am actually really struggling at the moment because I am missing the experience and the closeness we had as a family. We spent everyday / all day together and it was so special.

How has life been for you since Captivating???

Hi Mel,
I am the Joanne Susan was referring to. I live in Qld, where are you? I would absolutely love to share with you and chat about Captivating. What an answer to prayer you are. I too have 4 kids, Jack 10, Tom 8, Sarah 6 and Timothy 4. Life is full to say the least. I live in a small country town and I have very few (almost none really) women who I can really talk with especially about this captivating stuff. What is your husbands name? Mine is Steve and he really got a lot out of Boot camp here in Oz. Hopefully you too will be able to attend a Captivating and hopefully here in Australia. Pray for this. I spoke with some of the team and they would love to come here but it is a matter of God's timing. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Love Jo

Wow i would have loved to attend the Captivating retreat..one day God willing. I will ask my hubby if he is contacting the Freeman's he is in a group with the aussi WAH. What ages are you children, and how did you manage a girl? Thanks Susan, I will have a look. I am totally enjoying the book, feels a place of beauty in a home of testosterone, as I write this I can hear the raising of voices over a win in a game.(Sat here 9.40 am ) no quiet doll dressing here, but you would get that! But I love my boys what a gif! Love Mel

Hi Mel, I'm here in the USA also with 4 kids..3 boys. I take it you didn't attend the Captivating retreat here last FEB? Anyhow, when I was in Colorado at the retreat, I met a woman from Australia...I think there were several. The one I met, Joanne Freeman, and I emailed quite bit. I believe her husband attended the WAH boot camp in Australia recently. I'll email her know you're out there. Maybe you can connect?

As far as book discussion...check out the Forums (above) to see if anything is started there. I've been so busy here that I've not continued discussion of the book.

I'll email Joanne

I am not sure if this is the right group ..but I live in Australia and am doing the Captivating book (actually I have read the book ..so me!) and am doing the workbook.I am looking for a group to discuss what I have discovered. I am married and a mum of 4 boys so I don't get much "girl talk" around here and I really would appreciate someone to chat with..I have, or am in the middle of seeing most of the movies Stasi mentions in the book and I have lots of notes in my workbook ready to share.I have not found a group here in aussi doing Captivating so I need to look in the land of great food the USA. My hubby went to the WAH bootcamp here in Australia and brought the Captivating book home for me to read and do. WOW it was like someone finally got me,and it is ok to be a fluffy, pink, ribbon and perfume girl in my home of testosterone!
Last year really knocked the stuffing out of me and I believe I really need this, so if you could direct me to the right place I would be very much appreciative.
God Bless,
Mel

I want to share my post-Captivating experience. We live an hour from Buena Vista, and hubby came to pick me up. He later told me that when he first saw me, he couldn't stop staring at me. He said I glowed, and he thought to himself, "Wow! She really is beautiful!" Wow! I'm so humbled by that.

Then, two days later, David made an "appointment" with me so that I could share everything I wanted to regarding the retreat. I actually got out my notes and read them and expounded on them. I cried and laughed, and he cried and laughed along with me.

Now, it's been a few weeks, and he said I have never lost that glow.

What's amazing is that now whenever I read a book or watch a movie - any movie - I find myself looking for the Captivating motives behind the character's actions or in the plot. I am amazed to find it everywhere!

I'm still on cloud nine, and my love for God continues to grow deeper as all this continues to sink in.

This truly was a life-changing experience!

I'm still processing much too. I've wanted to watch the movies, but haven't gotten around to it. i do have 2 of the cd's and have been listening to a lot of music.

I think the biggest challenge for me so far is that I want to talk about my experience at Captivating with people in my area, but there is no one around who has been. So, when I start to explain what I was up to, I get a lot of "that's nice...good for you, sounds interesting" end of discussion.
So here I am on the RH website. Will probably join the forum soon. It would be nice to have some face to face with others who've had the experience. I loved it. Hope one day I will return.

It's been a couple of weeks since the retreat and I find that I'm still processing and trying desperately to hold on to the reality of the Truths of the weekend. I've been watching some of the movies that we talked about or got just a glimpse of. That's been fun. Anyone else watching any of the movies? What's been the biggest challenge since you've been home?

What an amazing weekend! It was great to meet and hear the stories of those who attended the gathering on Saturday afternoon. I pray the enemy doesn't attack our "memories" of what all we learned and experienced.
